Job Summary:

In a career as a Quality and Accreditation Coordinator, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will coordinate, implement, and monitor the Boys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH) quality improvement and accreditation-related activities.

Schedule: Full-Time, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Monday-Friday

Location: Downtown Clinic

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Coordinates, implements and monitors the BTNRH quality improvement and accreditation-related activities (hospital, clinic, and PRTF) to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements of The Joint Commission, CMS, State and other applicable accreditory/regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees mock surveys/tracer activities/rounds to evaluate compliance with policies and procedures and identify and communicate areas for improvement.
  • Provides direction in the identification, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of appropriate quality standards for healthcare services compliance.
  • Works collaboratively with the clinical teams in identifying and recommending best practices to support healthcare quality and safety excellence.
  • In collaboration with the Patient Safety Officer and Director of Quality and Support Services, reviews the incident reporting system to monitor, trend and prioritize clinical risk.
  • Assists with patient satisfaction and customer service-related activities.
  • Coordinates the clinical quality committee in collaboration with the quality team.
  • Coordinates the medical emergency review workgroup in collaboration with the quality and clinical teams.
  • Assists with the policy management process for the clinical programs to promote consistency, facilitate regular reviews and ensure workflows match policy/procedures.
  • Fosters quality improvement efforts by continually reviewing clinical workflows, processes of care, and organizational structure.
  • Participates in various workgroups and committees to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Advocates for care that best serves the patient and families.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or a compact state required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital or clinic setting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality improvement, clinical outcomes management or standards/regulation activities required.
