Job Summary:

In a career as a Medical Social Worker Supervisor, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day activities addressing financial and social concerns impacting care of Boys Town National Research Hospital and Clinic patients. Participate in the development, coordination, and completion of department activities.

Schedule: Full-Time

Locations: West Hospital and Downtown Clinic

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Schedules and coordinates staff, while considering patient needs, allowing for effective performance of all required duties and responsibilities. 
  • Coordinates training and orientation of new department personnel to ensure consistent application of department procedures; provides on-going feedback to dept personnel on their performance and performs employee performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and reporting performance improvement activities, designing and communicating policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership in the identification and acquisition of resources (local, state, and federal) for patients and their families; serves as a resource for social work team, BTNRH physicians, nurses and staff.
  • Ensures social work activities meet identified needs of the patient and care for the patient is met through referral to appropriate resources in the community or within the Boys Town system.
  • Oversees discharge planning and assists with Social Determinates of Health and other health equity initiatives.
  • Maintains working knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues that impact patient care.
  • Complies with all applicable statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work required.
  • Certification, Licensure, or Provisional Licensure as a Social Worker in the State of NE required.
