The Youth Services Support Assistant coordinates and manages the Summer Youth Supervisor Program and provides aftercare support and assistance to youth. This position also coordinates departmental projects and provides administrative assistance.
Hires, trains, and supervises employees in the summer program.
Coordinates and oversees youth participation in the summer program.
Collaborates internally to communicate youth employment opportunities and report on progress or areas of concern.
Works with post-program youth to improve employability skills and find employment opportunities.
Provides aftercare assistance including finding opportunities for financial assistance, scholarships, and community resources.
Assists on special projects and activities including senior planning activities.
Schedules Christmas and Summer Home activities.
Provides departmental administrative support including entry in data systems.
Communicates with community service contacts to coordinates services and opportunities.
Maintains petty cash accounts if needed.
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
1 year of program experience.
Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices.
High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of software applications with an advanced ability to utilize Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
Ability to hire, train, and supervise temporary employees.
Knowledge of the Boys Town Model.
