OVERVIEW OF JOB

Boys Town is seeking a Stationary Engineer to provide support and maintain Power Plant operations.  In this role, you will operate and maintain stationary and mechanical engines including centrifugal chillers.  You will perform preventative maintenance duties for power plant systems, and repair, remove, and install plumbing fittings and pipes.  As our Stationary Engineer, some additional responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to service orders, determining appropriate repairs, and completing maintenance reports.

  • Reviewing and updating maintenance procedures.

  • Maintaining effective and efficient operation of the boilers for organizational heating operations, maintaining proper fuel levels for the boiler operation, and preparing boiler for annual state inspection.

  • Maintaining charts and daily logs of operations; preparing reports regarding fuel and water usage.

  • Assisting in completing administrative duties, ensuring accuracy of master on-call list, and recommending improvements to production methods, working conditions, and use of equipment.

  • Utilizing Boys Town vehicle or own vehicle to complete work duties.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is preferred.

  • 2 to 3 years of experience including 1 year actual operating experience.

  • City of Omaha Third Grade Stationary Engineer License required.

  • This position is on-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support and may work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check.
