Sr Software Developer Analyst

Boys Town and Boys Town National Research Hospital are changing the way America cares for children and families. As one of the largest national child and family care organizations in the country, and one of the leading research hospitals in the country, Boys Town is currently looking for a Senior Software Developer Analyst. In this role, you will orchestrate Workday Integrations, create advanced Workday Reports, and design Security to fit the Mission’s need. In addition, you will assist with developing and testing non-Workday integrations and systems to support Boys Town’s organizational requirements. We are looking for an individual who will take initiative, has solid communication skills to work across the enterprise and has a solid foundation working with Workday.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Manages, develops, and implements software solutions.

  • Researches software services and products offered by vendors based on requirements, quality, and price.

  • Coordinates project activities with internal staff, computer manufacturers, software vendors, and other users to meet system objectives.

  • Trains end-users on new and existing software applications.

  • Manages updates and provides technical support for software solutions.

  • Evaluates software trends to determine appropriate software solutions to meet organizational strategic goals.

  • Develops and maintains high customer satisfaction.

  • Directs activities of software developers, systems analysts, and other technical staff.

Evaluates, designs, develops, documents, and tests software that meets system specifications and user’ requirements.

  • Designs and recommends system modifications or replacements based on ease of implementation and cost.

  • Documents system design, format, and programs necessary for implementation.

  • Meets with end-users to determine appropriate system specifications and requirements; presents analysis, designs, and prototypes to end-users.

  • Develops new software applications or modules using organizational standard programming languages and develops support materials including program documentation and operational instructions.

  • Maintains and updates existing software applications; maintains coding standards and naming conventions.

  • Develops custom software frameworks to gain efficiencies when developing similar software functionality; tests programs thoroughly.

  • Creates database objects such as tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

  • Completes performance tuning, maintenance, synchronization, security, and accessibility of database systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of software development procedures, change management, and best practices; Microsoft skills.

  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner.

  • Ability to translate complex data into understandable conclusions and recommendations.

  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards and scope.

  • Ability to deliver predefined outcomes with little supervision.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL databases structures, reading and writing SQL statements, normalizing databases, and query performance tuning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience, including systems development, programming, analytics, and database administration required.

  • On-call work to provide additional support and may require work to be performed outside of traditional business hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical certifications preferred.
