Job Summary: In a career as a Behavioral Health Specialist, you join us in providing life-changing care to youths. The Boys Town Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides medically directed care for children ages 5-17 who have severe behavioral health problems or mental illness. Behavioral Health Technicians strive to heal youth and turn their life around for the better. Building relationships with kids, monitor, and lead by example. Be positive role model and address positive and negative behaviors.
Schedule: Part Time Shifts Evenings.2:30pm to 11:00pm per work week and every other weekend.
Part Time Shift Days. 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM per work week and every other weekend.
- Experience working with children, preferred.
- Demonstrate to criteria while maintaining current in CPR, PEM and nationally recognized personal restraint model must be obtained during pre-service training.
- Demonstrate to criteria nationally recognized personal restraint model.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills.
Good communication skills and ability to maintain appropriate level of confidentiality a must.
Will participate in advanced training activities.
Must be 20 years of age.
Must be up to date with all immunizations required by Employee Health.
Physical Requirements: Light to medium work, occasional squatting, kneeling, negotiating to the ground into a quadruped position, crawling, lying on the ground while maintaining a variable static force to restrain a child or simulate restraining. Requires functional use of bilateral lower extremities to complete these tasks as the restraint required will dictate employee position and duration of the task, lasting up to 3 minutes. Occasional forceful exertion of the upper extremities while restraining a child or simulating restraints that would require function strength and range of motion the upper extremities and trunk. Force is variable depending on restraint, may be up to 50lbs of static force and up to 3 minutes. Walking and standing varies throughout the day.
