Audio Visual Support Engineer

The Audio-Visual Engineer will provide technical support and coordination for all media events including all technical components such as routing/switching, recording and duplication of video/audio signals for live local and remote video conferencing, web streaming, Telemedicine, and AV integration. Support includes training, assisting and demonstrating technology with end-users to ensure a positive customer experience.

Schedule: Full Time, 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Provides technical support and coordination for all media events including all technical components.

  • Sets up, tests, operates, assesses, and repairs equipment required for live events, such as video conferences, live streaming, and recorded broadcasting events. Will support sound systems, microphones, sound mixing equipment, overhead projectors, video cameras, recording equipment, amplifiers, mixers, video screens, speakers, lighting and Crestron equipment.

  • Will program and produce, recording productions, and presentations to generate sound, images, and videos.

  • Assists with the coordination of technical aspects for all Health/Youth Care events including scheduling outside vendors for repair, test calls for video conferences and web-stream productions. Provides staff coverage for events, and review of policies/procedures/contracts for distance and telemedicine functions.

  • Provides internal and external consulting regarding distance support, project development, optimizing presentations/services using Boys Town communications technology. Trains, assists and demonstrates technology with end-users to ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Develops AV technology through integration design and strategic planning for solutions used in conference rooms, Board rooms, research labs, clinics, auditoriums and classrooms.

  • Review of policies/procedures/contracts for distance and telemedicine functions.

  • Provides design, support, and deployment for clinical classroom observation camera solutions.

  • Provides budget recommendations and budget summaries for technology upgrades and media team projects.

  • Drives Boys Town vehicle as needed to complete duties of the job.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • CISCO Room Kits, Codecs, and Poly Com Video Conferencing systems

  • Crestron Audio/Video distribution systems

  • Monarch Video Observation system

  • Cisco Web-Ex/Teams/WebEx Event Center, Microsoft Teams, and other Internet Conferencing systems

  • Crestron AV integration including large room /auditorium configurations.

  • Strong understanding of Desktop Video, content sharing, collaboration, and Voice Integration

  • Troubleshooting skills with the following: WebEx / WebEx Events, Microsoft Teams, Video Endpoints / Cisco Room Kits, Crestron AV, Conference Room scheduling software, and Video streaming technology.

  • Understanding of media encryption in relation to HIPPA regulations and compliance.

  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills; excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to train and support end-users across the organization on all Boys Town Video Conferencing applications.

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner and to build and sustain successful, professional relationships.

  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Cisco & Tandberg Telepresence Systems required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with installation and repair of AV & Video Conferencing technologies, WebEx, broadcasting, and Large Room based presentations required.

  • On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support required.

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.

  • ass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.

  • Occasional national travel required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.

  • Crestron or AV certifications preferred.

  • Cisco/Microsoft Video Conferencing certifications preferred.

  • Vendor specific certifications on video conferencing systems preferred.
